Animal Shelters Are Overflowing Due To The Coronavirus

Since the beginning of the pandemic, local animal shelters have been overflowing. Many people have been relocating since the spread of Covid-19 because of joblessness and the economic failure, leaving their animals behind, according to the interim director at Collierville Animal Shelter. "During the COVID-19 a lot of people had to leave the area due to job loss, and so they’ve had to surrender their animals," she said. 





"Collierville Animal Services, Memphis Animal Services, Fayette County Animal rescue and Tipton County Animal Shelter say they’ve been overflowing with animals since the beginning of the pandemic," wrote WMC news. 




There has especially been an overflow of animals in at Collierville and Memphis Animal Services, Fayette County Animal rescue and Tipton County Animal Shelter. Some shelters have limited their intake to emergency animals only.
