Hello, 2020! As we welcome a new year and decade, our Diabetes Online Community had plenty to say. Here are some of the excellent posts that caught our eye during this month of January (in no particular order).

The national organization that supports professionals working in diabetes education announced a name change, to better match their new job title, unveiled last summer. The org formerly known as the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) will henceforth be called the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES). Not everyone is cheering. Patient advocate Melissa Lee at Sweetly Voiced shares her POV on the practicality (or lack thereof) of this name change.
Fellow blogger Mila Clarke Buckley at The Hangry Woman captured the frustration that many of us felt when seeing type 2 diabetes stereotypes and body shaming put out there by celeb Jillian Michaels.
