International affairs revolving around Muslim countries have been erupting with calls to boycott all French products after the French president, Emmanuel Macron, said he would propose that the legislature fight "Islamist separatism" after he had called Islam a "religion in crisis."
This is following the decapitation of school teacher Samuel Paty by Islamic extremists. The action was in response to the teacher showing caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad to his students during a class. This is considered a great insult to the religion in Islam. At the teacher's wake, Macron referred to Paty as a "quiet hero" and defended anyone's rights to produce such caricatures.
Protesters all around the world took it to the streets to show their disapproval of Macron's actions in handling the situation. Most prominently, Turkey's president Tayyip Erdoğan has called for a boycott of France and its products. Other leaders of Iran, Pakistan and Qatar and others have also publicly disapproved of the actions and also called to cut out French products.
