If you were listening to FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock this morning, you would probably know that Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s ‘Rain On Me’ is the undisputed favourite summer song of 2020. ‘Rain On Me’ had created history when it debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 100, i.e. it marked the first instance for female collaboration to debut atop of the chart. Moreover, it also made Ariana Grande the first artist to have four songs debut at the top spot. The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, which haven’t compromised on their 2021 live show despite the corona outbreak, are now predictably eyeing ‘Rain On Me’ to headline their show, and we have confirmation about the same.

NEW 102.7 host confirmed earlier this morning that The Academy is aggressively pursuing Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga to deliver an amplifying performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. In recent years, both Grande and Gaga have delivered dazzling performances at the Grammys. Ariana Grande had channelled an electrifying performed on ‘Thank U, Next’ earlier this year, while Lady Gaga’s Shallow was a showstopper at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

‘Rain On Me’ is one of the most celebrated female collaborations in history. Having particularly reaped praise for its style, aesthetic and feminist visuals, the song topped charts in 12 countries, while remaining in top-10 in 40 others. The 63rd Grammys, if they go ahead as planned, will inevitably benefit from a stage performance by Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga. Grande, specifically, is witnessing a sharp rise in popularity. Earlier today, the 7 Rings ringer became Malaysia’s second most celebrated artist, tying with Blackpink and following only BTS.
