A couple was arrested at their Florida home for child pornography and obstruction of justice in Cumberland County.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, detectives charged 45-year-old Johnny James Matney with five counts of indecent liberties with a girl, obstruction of justice, and criminal conspiracy.

His wife, Jennifer Lynell Matney, 35, was also charged by the sheriff's office with obstruction of justice, obstruction of justice, and criminal conspiracy.

According to the sheriff's office, the couple's arrest stems from a 2018 investigation that named Johnny Matney as the perpetrator for his interaction with a minor child for "sexual pleasure purposes," according to the sheriff's office.

An investigation found that this had occurred many times in the years leading up to the study's publication.

According to the sheriff's office, Jennifer Matney was aware of the incidents and not only refused to alert authorities but also took "affirmative action" to hide the crime.

On April 5, Cumberland County detectives could apprehend the Matneys at their home in Brevard County, Florida. On Wednesday, they were returned to Cumberland County and booked into the detention center.

Jennifer Matney received a $50,000 secured bond, while Johnny Matney received a $400,000 secured bond.

Both parties appeared in court for the first time on Thursday, and a judge reduced Johnny Matney's bond to $200,000 secured, while Jennifer Matney's remained the same.
