After a video of a group of three police officers beating up a Black man in Paris, France surfaced, the officers involved have been suspended by the Paris police department.

This incident comes after government talk of passing laws that would prohibit sharing media that identifies police officers. These laws were criticized by many, claiming that with such laws, police officers would not be held accountable for use of unnecessary force.

The victim of the incident was a music producer, and the whole incident was seen by the public and the Police Department as unnecessary use of force and police misconduct. The incident was publicly condemned by Black French football star Kylian Mbappe, and others. "Unbearable video, unacceptable violence. Say no to racism," he wrote on his Twitter page.
