The Marine Corps has developed its own hand-to-hand fighting system, combining different styles with close-quarters combat techniques and Marine Corps philosophies.
The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), draws influences from such disciplines as Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, wrestling, and boxing, which does teach Marines how to utilize hand to hand combat, but it goes well beyond that. But the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, or MCMAP, is only as effective as the Marine who is operating it.
Marines are known for their proficiency in fighting, but not many people know that they've developed their own hand-to-hand fighting system, called the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. (MCMAP) combines several different styles with close-quarters combat techniques and Marine Corps philosophies to create something new.
While many, varying opinions exist on the program, its important to understand one simple thing: It's only as effective as its wielder. In short, if you were t any good at fighting before you learned MCMAP, you re still not going to be much good after you earn that tan belt.
