Here's what you need:


Sugar – 2 cups

Water – 5 cups

Milk – 1 tsp

Cardamom Seeds – ¼ tsp

Saffron – ½ tsp

Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp

Grated khoya – 1 ½ cups

Baking Soda – ½ tsp

Maida – ½ cup

Milk – 1 tsp

Ghee – 1 cup (for frying)

Let's get cooking!

1. Prepare the sugar syrup by combining water and sugar and bringing it to boil. Add milk, cardamom seeds. Strain the syrup. Add saffron, cardamom powder and keep it aside.

2. In a bowl, take grated khoya and mix baking soda and maida. Add milk and water as necessary and knead it into a dough.

3. Take small amounts of the dough in your hand and roll it into a ball. Make 10-15 of these balls and fry them in hot ghee.

Remove from the frying pan once golden brown.

4. Immerse the gulab jamuns in sugar syrup for 30 minutes. Serve hot.
