An obtained court document shows that hundreds in Turkey were sentenced to life in prison for a failed coup attempt in back in 2016, including 337 pilots and others. It was an attempt to overthrow the rule of current Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Nearly 500 people were accused of carrying out the coup, while nearly thousands were involved. Muslim preacher and businessman Fethullah Gulen's supporters are accused of being a big influence on pushing the coup.
The people who were prosecuted, including the pilots, were imprisoned with no possibility of parole. Former air force commander Akin Ozturk was accused of directing the coup.
