Hydrate the Right Way with Infused Water

Well actually, as long as you're drinking enough water, there is no 'right' way to drink it. But as many of us on the hydration kick would tell you, making yourself drink enough plain water can be tricky, especially if you're not used to it. When you're used to flavored drinks, especially sugared or caffeinated ones, water just doesn't seem to have the same appeal. Luckily, there's a great way to make water more palatable to even finicky drinkers: infusions.

Don't worry, it's easy to make infused water, and it's just as easy to customize the infusion with flavors you like. It just depends on what tastes you like best, and what vitamins you might like to be present in your drink. Infusions aren't just great for flavoring water, but they can actually provide a minor health boost in addition to the benefits of drinking more water! All you really need to successfully infuse water is to coarsely chop or slice the fruits, vegetables, and herbs you want to include, and let them steep in the water for at least 30 minutes. The more you use and the longer you let it sit, the stronger the flavor may become. You might even be able to make a weak tea if you leave it outside in the heat of the day! Whatever you decide, here are a few flavor combinations to inspire you.

Cucumber Melon

Strawberry Lemon

Orange Basil

Blueberry Mint

Mango Pineapple

Go nuts, and try combinations of three and even four ingredients for even more fun! Stay thirsty, my friends.
