Is Delayed gratification worth it ....

I have been asking this question that delayed gratification is actually worth it or not , because if we have everything that we can be happy with then why spend time in building up good habits , exercising , reading books and gaining new information ?

So I got interested in this topic and I went from basic marshmallow experiment to advanced studies and I also took time to study the lifestyle of monks , businessmen , professional players , and other successful people and came to the following conclusions why Delayed Gratification is beneficial (you're very lucky to know this)

1. IT REPROGRAM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND TO PUT IN EFFORT AND HARD WORK BEFORE GETTING ANYTHING GREAT .

See if you are willing to achieve anything great like in business , Sports , fitness , Lifestyle , relationships then you have to work very hard , invest a lot of time , be fully committed and disciplined to consistently work everyday and then you will get a pleasant feeling of achievement ....... But

If you open your phone and go to social media and just randomly scroll you get that same feeling too without many effort !!!!

You can just ask your parents for money and buy things you like and you get that sense of achievement again !!

That's why you should be practicing delayed gratification to get your habit of doing the work and not be satisfied with small things and achieve something great .

And you mustn't be satisfied with first point which brings me to point no. 2

2. YOU GET REAL HAPPINESS THAT LAST LONG AND YOU BUILD HIGH SELF ESTEEM .

Now you want to be happy right so you do all the things like eating mouth watering snacks , sleeping late , enjoying small things like social media , etc .....

What happens through all this is you overexpose your DOPAMINE receptors and that's slowly changing your brain chemistry and what does that do ??

Your brain identify itself as a host getting all pleasure in the world just sitting or sleeping and gets into the habit of instant gratification means being happy in the moment and consider it to be the best thing . No wonder then you will find yourself with low motivation , lack of clarity , slave of habits just wasting life and all these things have a serious impact on your SELF ESTEEM as you judge yourself unworthy , set low standards for your life ( often known as average life )

And this all results in a very stressed lifestyle .

On the other hand if you actually earn the pride that comes by following a disciplined lifestyle focusing on most important thing first , learning and evolving then you get self respect and self love and unlike any other thing this is PERMANENT feeling of love and honour for ourselves .

3. CHANGE IS CONSTANT

Now the main factor that nothing in this world is constant other than CHANGE , so you'll never know when your lovely lazy lifestyle will be replaced with a very challenging one and then you will have to do the work you've never thought you would do . That time if you don't have healthy habits and productive lifestyle you will be broke and will blame whole world , and get in some sort of addiction and stuff like that .

So what I'm trying to say is that you control your impulses till an extent , and only give yourself pleasure after you have done any challenging task and don't program your mind like a lazy uninspired puppy who gets everything , and MAKE YOUR LIFE WORTH IT .
