At a whopping $1.5 million USD, an Israeli jeweler has been commissioned to design and create the most expensive facemask on earth. And to think that most of us think twice before paying $15 for a face mask to stave off the virus! But according to the Yvel company of Israel, the mask will absolutely be the top priced face covering on earth.

According to Isaac Levy, owner of the Yvel jewelry company, the mask, which will be sold to an unnamed Chinese businessman living in the United States, will be made of 18karat white gold, encrusted with 3,600 white and black diamonds. Inside, it will contain a top of the line N-99 mask filter. The mask will be completed by the end of the year at the buyer's request.

“Money maybe doesn’t buy everything, but if it can buy a very expensive COVID-19 mask and the guy wants to wear it and walk around and get the attention, he should be happy with that,” Levy told Huffpost.

That's surely true: the mask will weigh over half a pound, and probably won't be a mask one could just wear anywhere. And unlike cloth masks, there will be no throwing it in the washing machine! But nevertheless, the big project is helping to bring in revenue for the employees of Yvel for which Levy says he is thankful.
