According to US media, Larry King - 87 - is being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles for the coronavirus. A source close to the family said that he has been in the hospital for over a week. The last several years, King has run into many health difficulties the past couple of years; including heart attacks, diabetes, angina, and lung cancer.

Larry King became popular in the 1970s with his radio programme, The Larry King Show. Since then, he has been a staple in the talk show industry including winning two Peabody Awards and an Emmy. In 1988 he founded a charity called the Larry King Cardiac Foundation which helps fund heart treatment for those with limited financial means or no health insurance.

Showbiz 411 was the first to report on King's hospitalization on January 1st. "Larry has fought so many health issues in the last few years and he is fighting this one hard too, he's a champ," a source told CNN.
