Since a fight over the Nagorno-Karabakh territory has erupted between neighboring countries Armenia And Azerbaijan, hundreds have been reported wounded and dozens killed. The fight over the breakaway territory has caused military forces to intervene.

Analysts warn that peace could be difficult to negotiate this time around in this situation, largely because of Turkey's backing of Azerbaijan. The two countries have both significantly experienced major losses, with many bombing and heavy use of military equipment from each side on its opponent. No side has shown any intent to stand back.

Historically, he disputed territory, Nagorno-Karabakh, along with Armenia And Azerbaijan, was part of the Soviet Union before its fall. Around the end of the Soviet reign, Nagorno-Karabakh voted in the 1980s to join Armenia as part of its territory. After the Soviet Union crumbled, the territory announced its independence, which commenced the war between the two sides.

This is not the first fight the two countries have had, but with a global pandemic and the upcoming US election coming up, not much attention or efforts of deescalation have been made by European countries and the US to aid the situation. While major world powers have notably taken sides during this fight, the little to no media coverage of the altercation is largely due to the US's lack of intervention or commentary.
