Meghan Markle Celebrates Clothing Line Anniversary

Meghan Markle as a women’s icon is no joke as she celebrates the anniversary of her clothing line created for Smart Works, a charity she is a patron of which polishes women for their steps into new workplaces.


Last year in September Meghan Markle launched a smart, casual based workwear clothing line as part of a donation to her Charity’s clients. The Charity uplifts women who had been under the shadows of unemployment by assisting them with sessions and training on how to ace job interviews, step into the working community, and grooming your looks.


Markle collaborated with some designers and retailers for the collection for which they donated an item to Smart Work clients on every one item purchased by people. When Markle became the patron of the charity in January 2019, she highlighted the work they do for women. The Charity also narrated receiving more than 3000 clients and 1000 of them receiving the pieces.



Markle sat down in her California home in front of the newly-recognized fireplace and a grizzly bear wall hanging, as she video three clients whose lives changed thanks to Smart work. As Meghan asked to share their stories, one of them told, ‘They really coached me and got me ready, I felt so confident … they sent out the clothes and they fit amazingly, I put them on and that was the last piece of just feeling confident.’ Even During the pandemic, the Organisation made sure to cater to the client's needs by coaching them via video or virtual meetings.


Meghan Markle, gleefully watching over the recent works of the staff talked of how ‘People can say that so much of Smart Works is about the clothes themselves but it's really not. All of that stuff is the exterior but it is what it does for you on the inside that ends up being the best accessory. It’s the confidence, it's what is built within, that is the piece that you walk out of that room with and walk into the interview with that will take you to the next level of success. And that's what I love so much about the organization.’
