A naked woman was rescued in California after she got trapped between the walls of two buildings.

A woman, who was not immediately identified, was found wedged between 2 buildings in the 1020 block of North Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters were called by workers at the nearby S & C Auto Body shop after they heard the screams of a woman but were unable to determine her location.

"We called the cops and the cops came in and got on the roof and looked between the two walls and she’s all naked," the worker said. "She was in pain. She was screaming in pain. She was upside down too."

Fire officials claim that the woman was found stuck in a place that’s less than a foot wide. "She's wedged in there and we can't physically get in there and she can't crawl out," the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Capt. Thanh Nguyen told FOX11 Los Angeles.

Ultimately, when all efforts to reach the woman failed, firefighters resorted to technical rescue. They cut through the concrete wall and pulled the woman out in a process that took them approximately two hours.

It was not immediately clear whether the woman had suffered any injuries. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Fire officials did not immediately say how the woman got stuck or why she was naked.

"That’s a mystery to all of us here right now," said Nguyen.

The OCFA authorities have promised to release additional details as soon as they become available.
