On September 13, Netflix dropped its new miniseries, Unbelievable, and critics are raving. The show, which is based on true events, follows a young sexual assault victim named Marie. Marie, played by Kaitlyn Dever, is mistreated by the system and the police do not believe that the attack really happened. Years later, two female investigators, portrayed by Merritt Wever and Toni Collette, begin tracking down a possible serial rapist, whose attacks are almost identical to Marie's.
The story has been called devastating but done masterfully, and the series was adapted from an investigative piece written from ProPublica and The Marshall Project, which reported the events through reports and interviews with everyone involved in the crimes.
Streaming now on Netflix, Unbelievable is available for binging, and perfect for a lazy Sunday.
