Do Do you remember the Mothman? Many considered the sighting of this cryptic-creature to be the end of the world, particularly for numerous individuals residing in the creepy backwoods state of West Virginia, where folks said these encounters took place.

Every time this beast exposed his creepy self, all sorts of bad things started befalling, and like wild-fire too. So much so, that the worst bridge collapse which killed more people in history occurred. Many believe it was due to this devil of a monster.

What is even more bizarre and creepy; is the M.M. was observed pottering around, near this same bridge, shortly before this devasting episode took place. Yikes.

I do not exactly believe everything all people say, however, I will tell you this much folks, that does not mean you will find me crossing any kind of bridge, especially if this bad-ass appeared to be seen encompassing the same catwalk I may have also crossed. No thank you.

The most well-known cryptids might be Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster, but another prominent supernatural figure in the world of cryptozoology, which I have previously stated, would indeed be The Mothman.

Further Info on The Mothman:

As you already know, The Mothman gained prominence due to many sightings in West Virginia, that corresponded with the collapse of a bridge.

Despite these abundant sightings, which eventually faded away following the collapse, the figure didn't fully dissolve, as the creature has acquired countless other sightings over the decades; with the new documentary The Mothman Legacy, introducing to emit light on several recent sightings, in addition to plunging deep into some of the most famous sightings.

Per the press release, The final chapter in Seth Breedlove's Mothman trilogy, The Mothman Legacy will reveal the story of dozens of sightings of a folk legend of dubious origin, who allegedly recapitulates to be recognized throughout the area today.

With a dozen eyewitness interviews, the film guarantees to submit some of the most intense and terrifying encounters, ever reported.

Many believe the Mothman to be a phenomenon, an omen, only arising before the tragedy of the Silver Bridge collapse in West Virginia - only to finally disappear after a flap of sightings.

But what if there is more? What if the roots of this omen trace back much further, and go enormously deeper than anyone understood? And what if the sightings never really ceased?

Small Town Monsters:

The Mothman Legacy is directed by Seth Breedlove and produced by Adrienne Breedlove. Lyle Blackburn returns to narrate with cinematography by Zac Palmisano, and an original score by Brandon Dalo.

The Mothman Legacy is being funded through a crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter, which begins this month -- February. Compensations include copies of the film on DVD and Blu-Ray, posters, t-shirts, and more.

John Keel delivered the book The Mothman Prophecies in one of the most revered books in the cryptozoology community, including conversations with the residents of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, who witnessed the figure in the months leading up to the disaster. The book was then adapted into a film, starring Richard Gere. Remember?

One of the most popular theories about the explanation of the creature's sightings was that witnesses were seeing a large owl or some other type of large bird. Studies have shown that when a witness does not have any other object in their vision to give the silhouette a sense of scale, it is easy to misjudge an object that might only be two feet tall, as something compared to being eight feet tall. This also depends on the distance from the object. The large, glowing eyes could merely have been the reflected glow from headlights of a car.

Stay tuned for details on The Mothman Legacy, and head to its Kickstarter page to learn more.
