Parks & Racism, Homophobia, and Devistated Fans

It's been a bad day for Parks & Rec fans.

Mere hours after Chris Pratt opened himself to public condemnation by shedding light on his affiliation to a church that still participates in 'conversion therapy' of LGBTQ+ youth - a practice widely and rightfully condemned as torture - another P&R alumni, Rob Lowe, decided to shoot himself in the career with a tweet about Dem Senator Elizabeth Warren. The tweet, a play on the president's insensitive and racist wink at the Trail of Tears in a tweet directed at Warren from this morning, continued along the same misguided track; it managed to miss the senator completely and land right on the Indigenous Americans whose existence seems to have been reduced to a punchline aimed at one white woman in the eyes of Donald Trump.

Parks & Rec was never a dark show, but watching it now is gonna make a lot of long-time fans really uncomfortable.
