Hi Folks! We’re excited to announce our first writing contest at Folkspaper! You can win up to $100 in cash prizes. This contest’s theme is African American heritage and you can submit any kind of original text you want (essay, poem, investigative piece, etc) as long as:

- #FebruaryContest is mentioned in the title

- It has at least 500 words

- It’s related to African American heritage

- It’s an original piece of work

Two winners will be chosen by our team (1st and 2nd), and one winner will be chosen by you (3rd place)! So make sure you share your text with your friends so they can comment and react to your post because our team will take that into account as well when choosing the winners.

You can participate with as many entries as you want as long as they are original pieces.

The prizes will be:

2nd place: $50
