By order of the Pentagon, 3,750 more troops are being stationed at the US-Mexico Border, and will arrive by mid-February. According to a statement released by the Department of Defense on Sunday, "That support includes a mobile surveillance capability through the end of September 2019, as well as the emplacement of approximately 150 miles of concertina wire between ports of entry."

The statement further said that the incoming troops would only be there for 90 days, and since the total number of active-duty troops on the border will not rise above a 4,350 limit, many of the current 2,350 troops currently on the border will by cycled out.
