Day 6 of Isolation:
Entertainment is scarce. In order to keep myself sane and well-read, I have read every book in my collection. Twice. I fear that my reading list cannot sustain me through this dark time. As Robert Frost wrote: "the best way out is always through," but how am I to get through this without more reading material? Perhaps I am in the final pages of my literary career.
Okay, that's a joke, and my reading list remains thoroughly and unfathomably full. But for those who are just beginning to rediscover reading as a hobby, you don't have to hit up a bookstore or even pay Amazon for the privilege. If you have a library card, and I hope you do, you're already eligible to use a pretty great app that makes titles available electronically. It's called 'Overdrive.'
Essentially, your library card allows you to access a collection of online books selected by your issuing library. This might not exactly be your full library at your fingertips, but it's a great start, especially if you don't have a lot of books at home and no budget to buy any. Besides, who doesn't like the idea of reading a book before deciding to buy it?
Read on, and hang in there, Folks!
