After she attempted to dupe her family into paying £10,000 each for her wedding, a bride has been slammed but refused to invite anyone who didn't pay up.

The bride, who has been renamed Karen, allegedly called her brother Matt two days before the wedding, asking for money.

"I put deposits down for the hall, the photographer, the caterer, the flowers, and the DJ," she allegedly told him, "but I didn't realize I had to pay in full on my wedding day; I figured I could pay later."

She then asked if he had some $15,000 (£10,000) she could borrow, but he didn't. They talked for a few more minutes on the phone before hanging up.

However, 10 minutes later, he gets a call from a bridesmaid informing him that the wedding has been canceled.

The guest went on to say: "'Happy 1st anniversary,' Karen writes on Facebook a year back. I can't believe it's already been a year. 'Here are some wedding pictures.'

"Karen had called every member of the family and pressed them for money. They were not invited, and they said no.

"She had a small wedding with a large reception following. Her own brother, grandmother, and a couple of aunts were left out. She also complains that they weren't there for her "special day" ten years later.

The post has received hundreds of votes and thousands of comments from people who were shocked by her behavior after it was shared.

"I'm at a loss for words!" one person exclaimed.

Another individual stated: "That's awe-inspiring. In terms of how bad it is."

"I'm a little impressed by the gall they had to pull this trick AND complain that no one was there," said a third.
