Fans of the the teen coming-of-age show I Am Not Okay With This are #NotOkayWithThis, as the hashtag is trending all over twitter. The uproar came about after Netflix canceled the show after a mere one season.

"We’re disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID, and we are grateful to these creators," Netflix said in a statement.

Fans are comparing the show to other existing film series and shows that Netflix keeps renewing. IANOWT is a series based on the comic book bay Charles Forsman that follows Sad Novak, a loner who slowly starts grasping her telekinetic powers. Viewers have found that I Am Not Okay With This is a show that finally highlights LGBTQ+ couples, biracial romantic relationships and domestic violence, which hasn't been the point of focus for many teen shows and movies.

One show-lover under the handle @prorevvie tweeted out with anger: "NETFLIX MADE FOUR FUCKING SEASONS OF 13 REASONS WHY AND IS CANCELING #iamnotokaywiththis AFTER ONE SEASON?? DO THEY NOT KNOW HOW MUCH NEGATIVE IMPACT 13RW HAD??? I’M GONNA SHIT MYSELF I’M SO MAD."

Another show-follower had a similar reaction, dissing the film series The Kissing Booth: "So you canceled this amazing show with a young lgbtq couple, that speaks about broken families and abuse but you’ll put out 3 kissing booth movies when half the cast hates each other?! HUH make it make sense Netflix and give us back “i am not okay with this” #iamnotokaywiththis,"  said @amandarameriz.
