Ayanna Williams has finally trimmed her fingernails after nearly 30 years. In Houston, Texas, Williams set the women's world record for the longest fingernails in 2017, with 18 feet, 10.9 inches of fingernails (576.4 cm).

According to Guinness World Records, Williams smashed her previous record with her nails, which measured a total of 24 feet, 0.7 inches (733.55 cm) before she had them cut over the weekend (GWR).

Williams' right-hand fingernails were 338.5 cm long, while her left-hand fingernails were 395.05 cm long.

According to a press release sent to Fox News, the nails will be shown at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum in Orlando, Florida. The show will premiere on Friday.

Williams told GWR, "It's going to be great." "Even if it's just my nails, it'll feel like I'm waxing myself. I can't wait to see it in person. I'm going to be giddy with delight. Consider it for a moment; it's incredible."

Williams went on to say in the press release: "For my children and grandchildren, it is history. It's a thrilling prospect.

Williams had not cut her nails in 28 years, since the early 1990s, according to GWR. According to GWR, she had to be very cautious about some tasks before getting them cut, and she was unable to do others, such as washing dishes or placing sheets on the bed.

Furthermore, Williams told GWR ahead of her nail cutting, "I have to be very, very careful about my movements." "So, in my head, I usually plan for the next step I need to take to ensure that I don't injure myself or break my nails. I'm looking forward to cutting my nails because it marks the start of a new chapter in my life.

Before getting her nails trimmed, she had to spend a lot of time painting them. It took several days and three to four bottles of nail polish, according to GWR. It took two bottles of nail polish and 20 hours when she was first named the lady with the longest fingernails in 2017.

Williams told GWR, "I've been developing my nails for a few decades now." "I'm up for a fresh start. I know I'll miss them, but it's getting close to the time when they have to leave."

According to GWR, Williams had her fingernails trimmed at Trinity Vista Dermatology in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Allison Readinger used an electric rotary tool to operate.

Williams felt noticeable relief in her thumb and knuckles after her nails were clipped, according to a press release. Also, Williams said, "With or without my nails, I will always be the queen." "I make my nails; not my nails make me."

She told GWR that she intends to grow her nails out again, but not as long as she did previously.

According to GWR, even though Williams already held the existing women's record for the world's longest fingernails, Lee Redmond still holds the woman's record with the world's longest fingernails ever. Her fingernails measured 28 feet, 4.5 inches long in February 2008
