Has the ‘smell of space’ ever intrigued you, have you ever wondered how astronauts were able to smell space, although space is a vacuum? Well, your wait is probably over then, because a space-smelling perfume is due to arrive in the market soon.

A viral Kickstarter campaign is seeking to recreate the ‘smell of space’ in perfume. Several years ago, NASA had crafted a fragrance to train astronauts on how Outer Space actually smells. Initially, the space administration agency had exclusively secured the scent, but thanks to several Freedom of Information Acts (FOIA), it made the formula available in the market.

The Kickstarter campaign is focused on redeveloping the NASA space scent. Titled "Eau de Space," the perfume is being touted to be available to an average space-loving person. The Kickstarted, which has amassed a total of $395,000 so far, is being led privately by San Francisco’s Eau de Space company in partnership with Gadget Flow Official. The creators have joined hands to produce 4-ounce bottles of the scent, which will be Kosher Halal, Vegetarian and Vegan suitable.

The Kickstarter campaign is attempting to advertise the program through a promotional video which features astronauts discussing the smell of space. The space-venturers have A compared the smell of space to "seared steak, raspberries, and rum," a mystifying composition that one will only be able to smell once the perfume comes out.

The Eau de Space Kickstarter has also committed to donate a fraction of its proceeds to K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) programs.
